Tim Coalter

Saturday Evening

Bishop Tim Coalter came to Christ at the age of eight years old and joined the Church of God of Prophecy the following year in 1969. Ten years later, after accepting his call to the ministry, Bishop Coalter became a licensed minister with the Church in 1979.

In the fall of the same year, as newlyweds, he and his wife Kelly began serving under general Church appointment, as national evangelists. After this two-year appointment, Coalter served as a state youth director (Ohio) as well as began twenty-eight years of pastoral ministry. His pastoral service includes pastorates in Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee. Bishop Coalter was ordained as a bishop of the Church in 1991.

He was appointed as the state bishop of South Carolina in 2009 and continued serving in that role until September 2014 at which time he was recommended by his peers and selected by the international presbytery as the general presbyter of North
America. It was at this point that he and Kelly relocated to
Cleveland, Tennessee. In 2022, Bishop Coalter was selected and accepted, in one accord, to serve as presiding bishop at the 101st International Assembly.

Throughout his ministry, Bishop Coalter has served the Church on various state and international committees. Additionally, Coalter also served on the executive committee for the Pentecostal/Charismatic Churches of North America (PCCNA) for 10 years.

Bishop Coalter received his Master of Arts in Church Ministries with a concentration in Ministry Leadership from the Pentecostal Theological Seminary in 2011 and was recognized as the institution’s Alumnus of the Year in 2023.

He and his beloved wife, Kelly, shared 45 years of marriage before she went home to be with the Lord in February 2025. They are blessed with three children and eight grandchildren.
